Which Way to the Egg Hunts?
Our children can be demanding when it comes to following the traditions of their favorite holidays, and the Easter egg hunt is one tradition they won’t want to skip. If you’ve chosen to hide the eggs you colored together in our fully equipped kitchen, you won’t have to change into going out clothes, but if seeking eggs with other children is an important part of this tradition, there are quite a few options available to you.
In Mount Pocono, the annual Easter Egg Hunt is sponsored by the Pocono Mountain Volunteer Fire Department and is held on April 4th, a week before Easter. Starting at 1 PM, multiple hunts will be divided into different age groups, and for $5, your children can have their picture taken with the Easter Bunny. In Tobyhanna, Pennsylvania, April 4th is also the day they will offer their own hunt from 1 PM until 3 PM at The Mountain Center found at 354 Memorial Boulevard. Also offering a chance to meet the Easter Bunny, it’s not known if they will be providing pictures with the Easter Bunny or not, but if they don’t, just bring your own camera and take a few quick snaps for memory’s sake!
This holiday isn’t just for the youngsters; adults like to celebrate as well, and if you’re willing to take a short drive to Saylorsburg, the Easter Cork Hunt and Wine Tasting offered by Blue Ridge Estate and Winery is destined to be your favorite way to celebrate! Designed for grown-ups and held on Sunday, April 5th at 239 Blue Ridge Road, tickets cost $25 per person, and a small lunch is included in the ticket price. Spend a few hours looking for the special corks that will earn you prizes or, if preferred, spend the hours between 1 and 4 PM sipping your favorite chardonnay, cabernet, or rose! The best part of this Easter party is knowing your $25 ticket fee will go to a worthy cause; the proceeds go to the Parkinson’s Foundation and Rock Steady Boxing in the Poconos. And although the dates may change from year to year, this special Easter Cork Hunt has become an annual event, so if your journey doesn’t include a 2020 visit to the Poconos, you can always plan on attending in the years you do travel to our neck of the woods at Easter!
