Renting a ski-in/ski-out property means you can quickly access the slopes without having to endure long bus rides or take taxis. You also avoid driving in congested traffic approaching the ski areas, parking in crowded lots, and walking a mile lugging your gear before you can ski. After a day of skiing, you get to schlep it all back to the car and try to get out of the same packed parking lot at the end of the day. But not with a Poconos ski-in ski-out vacation rental!

Big Boulder Ski Area

If you want to practice your new tricks on a challenging, varied terrain park, Big Boulder Ski Area is the place for you. With 50% of the park made of terrain parks, you’ll never get bored at Jack Frost. Tannenbaum Park offers entry-level rails, rollers, berms, and boxes with less risk for beginner skiers or snowboarders. Love Park’s big jumps, tubes, and bars are a little more exciting, and you can get your adrenaline on at the triple line.

Jack Frost Ski Resort

Jack Frost is the sister resort to Big Boulder Ski Area. Where Big Boulder has challenges for terrain park lovers and snowboarders, Jack Frost focuses on family skiing and less challenging terrain.

Their ski school for kids, called the SnowMonsters Program, will help your youngsters learn all aspects of skiing, from getting on and off the lift to basic ski skills. This three-hour program lets them learn and move up to more challenging slopes at their own pace.

Blue Mountain Resort

Just 90 minutes from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania’s Pocono Mountains offer a wealth of world-class skiing opportunities at Blue Mountain Resort, especially for those who love lots of vertical drop. The 3,000-foot Razor’s Edge is a black diamond trail that offers skilled skiers a run for their money, with plenty of moguls and fun terrain parks.

Blue Mountain also offers the largest number of beginner slopes in the area, which helps beginners learn with little risk then gradually move up to more challenging terrain. But everyone will appreciate the speedy lifts–get the most out of your skiing time while you can!

And those who are here for business are in luck. Blue Mountain Resort offers night skiing, too!

Camelback Mountain

Camelback Mountain is the largest ski resort in the Poconos. It is convenient to both Philadelphia and New York City, making it an ideal winter resort location for a day trip or weekend getaway for city-goers.

Camelback Mountain offers advanced touring runs across the width of the mountain and provides outstanding views. Camelback also supplements snowfall with snowmaking which helps maintain the pristine groomed slopes for skiers.

Beginners will find space here to learn, and experts enjoy Camelback’s black and double black diamond runs a fun adventure. If you have a mixed ability group, they also offer a ski school for beginners, which leaves the advanced skiers on their own for a while to enjoy more of a challenge.

Have younger kids who love to sled? Stay for the Galactic Tubing adventures–everyone will go back to the vacation rental bushed and ready to sleep!

Shawnee Mountain Ski Area

Located two hours from Manhattan, Shawnee Mountain Ski Area’s 700 feet of vertical distributed over 23 trails is excellent skiing for all skill levels. There are trails from beginners through advanced and two terrain parks, as well as some night skiing/tubing.

Ski Big Bear at Masthope Mountain

This resort has a very cool lift system called a surface lift. It’s like those moving sidewalks at the airport but without the TSA agents and overpriced coffee shops! Magic Carpet and SunKid let you take the Snowbird Trail to the bottom, then shuffle onto the conveyor belt. Once you get the hang of it, you can move up to the Little Bear Chair then on to more advanced skiing and snowboarding.
