Comfort + Style = Pocono Mountain Rentals
The math is simple when the equation starts with our Pocono Mountain Rentals vacation escapes! Offering more than just the essentials for a schoolhouse away from home, we understand what parents of online schoolchildren need. Starting with high-speed internet that keeps classes from freezing at the most inopportune moments, we have created spaces that will ensure your children won’t miss being in a public school classroom. The best places to stay in the Poconos Mountains in our Split Rock community are larger than most, offering as many as 6 bedrooms but no fewer than 5, giving students plenty of options for choosing a specific room in which to do their schooling. Comfortable chairs are at the top of the homeschooling necessities list, and our chairs and sofas invite guests, regardless of age, to sink in and make themselves comfortable! Healthy lunches are a breeze to prepare in our cheerful and fully equipped kitchens, and when recess comes around, a hike to Split Rock is sure to clear out the cobwebs caused by a day of rote learning.
More to Love
We have talked a lot about the spaces you will need for schooling, but our properties are more than temporary classrooms and cafeterias! Sitting by the fireplace on a crisp fall night provides comfort you do not often find in vacation rentals, and although not all escapes offer this, if it’s something you want, you’ll find many that do! Teach by example as you spend some of your spare moments reading or find a documentary on television that makes learning fun again! If you have a subscription to Netflix, all three seasons of “The Crown” are available, and although it is not quite a documentary, there are enough true facts to tie in with your lessons on the royals, and the quality acting will make it fun for your kids to watch as they learn! And finally, once the last textbook has been closed and put away, the final crumbs of the Peanut Butter Passion pie you purchased at Kitchen Chemistry in Stroudsburg, and the closing credits of “The Crown” are scrolling by, it will be time to discover what we have known for a long time: Our beds are super soft and designed for happy dreams only! Turn off the lights, crawl under the covers, and let yourself drift happily away to the deepest sleep you have ever felt.
School’s Out!
When the books are put away and it’s time to explore the Poconos, there are plenty of activities that will keep you and your family occupied and entertained. Hiking the beautiful countryside, visiting historical spots that include the Stroud Mansion in Stroudsburg, and sampling a taste of the Poconos towns with visits to Jubilee, Trattoria 903, and Compton’s Pancake House. There’s always something to do with the family during your journey to Pennsylvania!
Need More Choices?
We have only mentioned a few places that happen to be relatively close to your “classroom,” but we promise there is so much more to do in the Poconos! Turn art class into a field trip that makes everyone happy. The Poke A Nose Pottery shop, located at 3400 Route 611, Suite 101 in nearby Bartonsville, allows you to create a souvenir to take home and enjoy forever. Due to COVID-19, masks must be worn while creating, but we are all used to that by now and the end result will absolutely be worth it! Physical education can be difficult when your “class” consists of just two kids three years apart in age, but a visit to the Summit Lanes in nearby Pocono Summit can be the answer! Offering gutter guards to help keep the littlest bowlers’ frustration-free, bowling is surprisingly good exercise and can be fun for the ENTIRE family—and yes, teacher/mom, that includes you as well! And if schooling has been more tiring than you originally envisioned, s’mores by the firepit under a full moon is the perfect way to celebrate another wonderful day of matriculation!
