Silver Spring Lodge

The bottom floor of Silver Spring Lodge sets the tone before you have seen the rest of the house: a custom bar, a regulation pool table, a full-size shuffleboard table, foosball, a poker table, and ring toss. That's an entire floor of pure entertainment. Silver Spring Lodge sleeps 20 across eight bedrooms in a three-story home in Lake Harmony Estates; the main floor above opens into a kitchen, a gas fireplace, and two dining tables that seat all 20; and the wrap-around deck just off the main level has a beautiful view looking out over the lake.

The Heart of the Home

The main floor is built for the whole group at once. The chef's kitchen is stocked and ready: ceramic cooktop, full oven, dishwasher, and a granite breakfast bar for overflow seating. Two solid wood dining tables in the dining area seat all 20 together ; difficult to pull off at this group size. The family room is anchored by a gas fireplace with a large LED Smart TV above it and enough seating for everyone to settle in after dinner.

Outdoor Living

The wrap-around deck gives you the lake view without being on the water, and there is enough room across the upper and lower levels to spread out. The 4-burner propane grill handles group dinners from up here; the 8-person hot tub sits below for after-dark. The fire pit anchors the yard. Lake Harmony Village is half a mile away: waterfront dining, bars, and the lake are a short walk or drive. In winter, Big Boulder Ski Resort is a 7-minute drive (2.2 miles).

• Ski or snowboard: Big Boulder Ski Resort is a 7-minute drive (2.2 miles); close enough for a morning-only ski day that still leaves the afternoon for the hot tub and fire pit.
• Indoor backup plan: H2OOooh! Indoor Waterpark is a 5-minute drive (1.3 miles); year-round and the right call when the weather turns.
• Easy nature for all ages: Thomas Darling Preserve is a 15-minute drive (about 9 miles); flat accessible trails that work for grandparents and toddlers in the same group.
