Sherman Theater

Everyone loves a good show! Located on downtown Main Street in Stroudsberg, Pennsylvania, the Sherman Theater in the Poconos has been providing incredible variety entertainment to the community since opening in 1929. Back then, the big draw was vaudeville comedy duo Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy. Today, it’s music greats and tribute shows to wow your senses. Come on down and enjoy some music while you’re in town!

Classic Rock for the Ages

The Sherman Theater is a great spot to see some of your favorite bands. Of course, the calendar is always changing, but in 2018, some of the highlights include Stone Temple Pilots, Stone Sour, Earth Wind & Fire, Third Eye Blind, and Huey Lewis & the News. Sherman Theater also hosts a variety of great tribute shows, including upcoming tributes to the Eagles, Pink Floyd, and some great 70s and 90s tribute concerts. There are also regular open mic nights, which are a lot of fun if you feel like performing yourself!

Outdoor Summer Fests

Sherman Theater in the Poconos also collaborates in hosting some awesome summer music festival experiences. The Sherman Summer Stage is a mobile outdoor venue, hosting shows all around Pennsylvania each summer. Stroudfest is an annual Labor Day festival, where vendors line the streets and the whole town comes down to party! And if you’re visiting in the fall, check out Harvest Fest, a great harvest-season celebration for the whole family to enjoy at Mt. Pocono.

Before the Show

Sometimes the time before the show seems to drag on forever, as you wait impatiently to see your favorite band, so why not take some of the angst out of the wait and do a little sightseeing in Stroudsburg while you’re there? Take a tour of the Stroud Mansion at 900 Main Street and get a glimpse of what life was like in the early days of our country. Built in 1795 and available to explore through guided tours only, this beautiful mansion retains all its period charm. For those seeking a different type of fun, Klues Escape Room at 542 Main Street is an extremely popular Stroudsburg activity. Offering a nice selection of rooms that include The Moonshiner Room, The Curse of the Pharaoh, and The Mad Hatter, they are currently working on adding Escape Houses to their repertoire, ensuring hours and hours of fun for everyone who tries them!

The Natural Beauty of Stroudsburg

One thing you will notice during your visit to Pennsylvania is the breathtaking beauty of its landscape. Green fields, mature trees, and the mountains standing guard in the background create a picture that is unforgettable, and a visit to Yetter Park will be all the proof you need. Located at 600 Stokes Mill Road, this local park is a popular disc golf spot, but it’s the sheer beauty of the park that will call to your soul. The river that run throughs it brings the wildlife to its shores, and if you are quiet and still enough, wild deer will come close enough to be photographed!

Make a Night of It

Dinner and a show is a classic combination and Stroudsburg is well known for its epicurean delights. Enjoy the hip vibe of The Charcuterie, located at 548 Main Street. Offering a varied menu of meats, cheeses, and pub food and an innovative selection of fine wines and cocktails to accompany each dish, it is the perfect spot for a night out. Siamsa Irish Pub (Siamsa is a Gaelic word, pronounced sheem-sa, used to describe fun and music) can be found at 636 Main Street and will help get the party started as you peruse a menu filled with Irish, American, and Italian foods, as well as the perfect drinks to go along with your meal choice. Their craft beers are a popular option and include classic IPAs, but it is Siamsa’s more unique brews that deserve a second look. The Cinnamon Roll Imperial Ale makes our mouths water in anticipation and the sweet taste of their Candi brew has grown to be quite addictive!
