In the Poconos, August is a month filled with fairs and fun activities, allowing visitors to celebrate the lovely summer season in our mountain region. One of the best fairs held in the area is the West End Fair, which is held in the nearby town of Gilbert just a short drive away during late August of every year.
The 2018 West End Fair will take place daily from August 19th through August 25th, with gates opening at 12:00pm each day. During the fair, visitors can expect to find midway games, live entertainment, arts and crafts, agricultural and livestock shows, demolition derbies, truck and tractor pulls, rides, fireworks, and a variety of delicious fair food.

Tickets for the West End Fair are extremely inexpensive, priced at $6.00 per person for a full day. Children under the age of 11 years old are admitted for free. Discounts are also available for bundles of 6 tickets, as well as senior citizens and children with school photo I.D. on certain days of the fair.

The only downside to the West End Fair is knowing that its days are numbered. Lasting just about a week, the fun of fair going ends too soon, but that doesn’t mean you should skip out on any visits to Gilbert, Pennsylvania entirely. Rather, spending a random day during your Poconos escape can be another highlight in your Pennsylvania adventures! Gilbert is more than just a small town; it’s a place you’ll fall in love with as you walk along the Pohopoco Creek, listening to the water as it babbles peacefully beside you.
